About The Artist

Artist Statement

“I believe that the unconscious is older and wiser than I am. When I listen to it, it is a great teacher and produces images that I could never have come up with on my own. I usually start with a feeling that wants to be expressed. I try not to use rational thought by imposing my ideas or opinions on the image. Instead, I let the colors and forms tell me what they want to be. The images have a life of their own, and come from a primal, instinctual place rather a rational or intellectual one.“

Medium and Technique

“I use water color, collage, and pen because I like the flexibility of using different mediums. There is also a surreal, dream-like quality that occurs when mixing materials that doesn’t happen when I limit myself to one medium.”
